The nature of Things

, I get asked a lot, how does a nature based path work with Christianity? How can you be Christian and practice that. Are you worshiping the creation and not the creator? Well, the answer is simple. How can I not? I mean, its not enough for me to sit in church every Sunday to hear a sermon. Yes in the right place or time the sermons can be nice but I need more. I'm feeling that others are starting to realize this too. A personal relationship with God that I can see feel touch smell and taste. Something tangible? How do you do that you ask? Well, its simple too. Nature.  In the first book of the bible, Genesis, it explains how everything was created for us to use for the people, plants and animals of the earth. For us to live in harmony. In knowing this we can work with nature in order to grow our relationship with God. It starts in daily practice and can be as simple as a walk or sitting under a tree. For me its detailed in every herb I work with and crystal I touch and oil I smell and altar I create or the reading I do. These things link me to creation in a way that is felt and sacred to me. God invites me to know him through these things and to help others know him through these things as well. Am I worshiping the creation and not the creator? For me nature, the creation IS him. They are one in the same. Mother earth is essentially him. He isn't and never was separate from his own creation and that......wait for it..... means us too my love! We are never and never will be separate from God unless we choose to be. We can't be! He made us from the dust of the cosmos. And yup honeys its in your Bible too. Adam and Eve. YAY! I look up to St Francis of Assisi when I think of what my path is like as an experience. He dedicated his whole life after a mystical experience of meeting God to serving him through nature. Although he also walked through town and wilderness naked because having no clothes meant closer communion with God. Uhhhhh, I'm not THERE.... YET! Just kidding! But his communion with God and what he passed down to us through his understanding is not far off from what the Buddhists believe as well.  All are one and one with God nature and human alike.  To be loved and respected. Hildegard of Bingen was another mystic that did a similar thing. She was a prophetess who healed and helped the sick in the church with her herbs and crystal remedies. So, the creation IS him in essence and by him I also mean male and female. Aka, mother earth. So in working with the things of the earth in my dedication and honor to him I am not worshiping the creation, but having a relationship and working with. Supporting mother earth the best I can and respecting her resources as well. Another question I get asked a lot is....Do you worry God will be upset with you or send you to...... uhh ohhh, wait for it again...... HELL!? Well, I grappled with this for a bit and finally realized that God is in me and God is outside me and if I choose to see him in the way that hurts no one and provides me with peace and strength and helps others where I can then God is pleased. And That's it! Yeshua said for us to come to God with the mind of a child and a spirit of wonder. So, what better way for me to do this than to get out my herbs, oils, crystals, crafts, and whatever else and just be with him and mother earth on my path. The beautiful thing about a nature based path such as this is there is no wrong way to do things. It's intuitively led. When I pick my herbs for candles workings I do it intuitively, when I make an incense blend I do it intuitively, when i'm creating an altar I do it intuitively. And so this path of a nature based spirituality and Christ centered beliefs works beautifully for me. And it can for you as well if you choose.

Lighting The Brightest Flame

When I started my spiritual Journey many years ago I didn't know I would be sitting here today. Candles in hand, herbs and oils stuck to my palms and fingers as I passionately roll the candle in them. lighting the candle and generating enough energy as my hands ache and I raise my head in thanks. The candle is my muse that inspires me to speak prayer and incantations for those that need it. When I get a request from someone who needs prayer I feel honored and excited to be able to do this for them. It is a ritual where I can come to God in petition separate from the situation and bring my prayers to him and my power of faith for this person and God. Sometimes we need someone to do this for us. Many times when we are lost or in need of a light lit for us, we are trained to light this ourselves. To be self sufficient. Don't ask for help. Only when necessary. Sometimes when we try and light this flame ourselves our energies are too low to keep the flame ablaze so to speak. We need someone who is outside to stand up and take some of the load, help us move in a healing direction forward and help petition the forces of the cosmos to generate that prayer of intention when we can't. When we are low or needing a boost or just wanting a change, sometimes we are farther down the way of feeling scarcity than we think and we need someone who can step in to believe in us again. This is what Candle Magic is. It is petitioning for change. For yourself or another. It is shifting and asking for that shift from source God. Mother earth provides her resources for us to create this ritual with the candles, crystals, oils and herbs. We thank her as we go through our ritual as well. Always making sure she is thanked for giving us these materials to be able to get the job done. When I perform my rituals I thank the Holy Trinity and Mother Earth as I work. I always ask that everything be in the highest and best good for all concerned and I give my petition with sincerity and honor to Source Abba Father. As I do this I am raising the energy of the petition and making it stronger. Each day the energy grows until on the last day there is a final culmination of energy released in prayer and thanksgiving. The candle is then allowed to rest on my altar space until it has soaked up enough energy from the area and says it is ready and willing to be buried. The candles, herbs, oils and crystals are entities in themselves that are extensions of mother earth, Source Abba Father and us. The molecules in their structures are similar to ours and when they all come together in asking it creates a rhythm of motion and tandem dance of creation. Its beautiful to watch as the energy is raised and the candles move and dance and try to touch one another. My hands are carefully and closely placed next to the candles as I let energy come in through the top of my head and down through and out my hands. This creates a vortex or energy that makes the candles dance. When I first started this it startled me a bit. My ego took over and asked, "Is this really your energy or just the wind in the room?" I made sure no drafts were in the room as to not have any interference in the work and when I took my hands away from the candles the flames would go still. No movement. This is of course still a good sign that the petition is being heard but when I placed my hands back close to the candles again they danced and twisted and turned with my energy. Amazing this ritual is. So if you request a candle lit for you, you can be sure it will be babied and taken care of. After all, the candle is in essence you. As it is your petition, your prayer and your desire. It is me who asks for you and generates this energy for you when perhaps you need a boost.
Many Many Blessings and Love,
Kristin

My spiritual path has taken me down many roads of wondering who God is, who Yeshua Jesus was and who we are as children of God.  Some of us can travel through life being content knowing or not knowing who or what Source is and this is perfect too. My question was always why, how, what and who.  Why did Yeshua say this in Mathew?  How does metaphysics work in tandem with the bible? What is meant by the tree of life and who is Melchizedek really? How can a candle, an intutive reading, meditation and looking to find God in nature help to solve all these questions? Well, because they are all art of the equation and part of us. All related all one.
